ANNOUNCING SPORTING SLAMMERS FC
PRESS RELEASE
Slammers FC is returning to Irvine through a partnership with The Ryan Lemmon Foundation and Sporting California Management Company. The newly formed venture will operate as Sporting Slammers FC under the RLF umbrella. The multi-sports club model may be a new concept to Irvine, but the people behind it are not.
Ryan Lemmon Foundation has been the leader of philanthropic work in Irvine. Ventures include Ryan Lemmon Stadium, Build the GP Now, and baseball tournaments.
Slammers FC have set the standard of excellence for girls sports. As the current 2021 ECNL Club Champions, their board and alumni consist of greats such as Mia Hamm and Christen Press. The Khoury brothers have been leaders of innovative thinking and personal achievement. Their success on the field includes 17 national titles, 4 ECNL Club Championships and hundreds of College Scholarships for the youth of Orange County.
Sporting Slammers FC will be led by Jon Szczuka and Andy Winn. Jon brings a history of championships as the former head coach of Woodbridge HS, Boys Director of Irvine Strikers and CEO of Pateadores. Board contributions off the field include Irvine Sports Committee, SCDSL Technical Committee, and Build the Great Park Now.
Andy Winn
Andy Winn has been involved youth soccer in Orange County for nearly 20 years, many of those in Irvine. The last seven. Years, he has been directly involved in Slammers FC, LAFC Slammers, and Slammers HB Køge. He has a long history of success bringing home ECNL National Championships, Cal South National Cups, and Surf Cups, but he feels his greatest success is the amount of young adults he has helped go on to some of the best colleges in the country including the likes of USC, Florida State, West Point, Cal Berkeley, UC Irvine, Oregon, Michigan, Gonzaga, and more.
Jon and I are beyond excited to be returning to the Irvine area. We have many relationships here, and love both the city and its people! We cannot wait to get started.

Slammers FC has alumni on the rosters of many colleges, professional teams, and international teams. This result comes from creating a clear pathway of development. Each stage is connected to the one before it and the one after it.
ABOUT SLAMMERS
With two Girls ECNL national championships, a second-place finish, and a third-place finish, Slammers FC are now 4-time Overall Club National Champions, and the only back-to-back winners in ECNL history.
